So I know we all wish that we could spend our Crypto in more places. I do as well. However it got me thinking about it on a fundamental way. I understand that one point of Cryptocurrency is to make payments more anonymous. But is it truly? Please know that I understand not every currency is the same but go with me on this ride.

Let me begin by saying, I love Google. They have revolutionized the internet and technology. However I don't trust them farther than I can throw them. The sheer amount of data they have on any one person is scary. If you are someone who never thought about it then think about everything Google touches.. E-mails and all the data within then, Calendar, purchases on Chrome, Browsing History, Location Data, text messages and everything else. (replace Apple for Google if you have a MAC and iPhone).
So one thing Crypto can go is make your payments anonymous right. Well let's look at it truly. Say I am using Chrome and go to BestBuy.com to buy a TV. And I use my Coinbase wallet to pay in BTC (assuming BestBuy accepts BTC). So now Chrome/Google knows what address sent what amount of BTC to what address. If you don't think they could you are fooling yourself. It also know what you bought and when. So lets say you then buy something later from your same BTC address to a "dirty" site on a VPN using Brave browser. You think you are hiding your web traffic you don't want tracked. Which is great BUT.... If someone else using Chrome bought something from that "dirty" site they know that's sites BTC address as well.
You see where I am going with this?
Google could then have the blockchain searched for your BTC address and see everywhere you sent your currency. And they would have a list of other BTC address and they would know you paid X amount of BTC to the "dirty" site. It wouldn't know WHAT you bought but it knows you did. And then guess what would happen. You might see ads for that site or that information could be sold to the highest buyer.
And guys I was only using BTC as an example so please don't comment know the technicalities of my scenario aren't adding up. :) I know and was using it for reference but the scenario still stands.
