Publish0x - Blogging for All?

Publish0x - Blogging for All?

By rah | rah | 1 Nov 2020

I absolutely love Publish0x and since starting have managed to acquire in excess of 500 followers and on the whole a lot a very positive feedback to my posts. In October I shared my most rewarded posts to date (one in excess of $7.50 and the other above $5.00) and somehow achieved three times the first slot on the Most Popular page. I can only thank you good people for that. I screenshot the first two and I was going to share them, but then when it happened a third time I decided not to as it would take too much page space and might come across as gloating.

And I am the most humble person I know...

In some ways this post replaces my usual End of Month report that I have been doing since I started blogging. Those of you who follow me know that currently about 75% of my portfolio is underperforming, but I am hodling the hell out of it for now and at least it is staking. The 25% that is working for me shifted as a result of the surge in BItCoin prices towards the end of October which I was able to stablise in my DAI holdings. Elsewhere Cointiply is beginning to gather some real momentum now that I am well beyond the 35,000 Coins mark and am beginning to receive other rewards from them. I finally got around to signing up to Celsius and initial signs are very good.

So on the whole momentum is shifting I just need that 75% to turn around and then it’s happy days again!

However, this is not my main reason for posting today.

Last week I did a comparison between Wordpress and Publish0x as a blogging site and particularly in the light of Wordpress’ upgraded Guttenberg / Block Editor Publish0x has proven to be far superior as the Wordpress option is unwieldy, difficult and frankly totally user unfriendly. The Wordpress classic editor is a much closer comparison, but has a few limitations with media formatting, as does Publish0x’s editor. So to reiterate and summarise Publish0x totally outperforms the upgraded Wordpress and is comparable to the Wordpress classic editor, but only Publish0x rewards in Crypto.

So this is my thought of the day...

While a huge majority of the content of Publish0x is crypto related (understandably) maybe we should encourage friends and family who want to blog to switch to Publish0x as the go to blogging site. For example I know somebody who takes lots of wildlife photos and produces calendars and other products and others who have plenty to say on a wide range of topics. While there are already plenty of people on here who don’t follow the crypto pattern (two that come to mind is one blogger who blogs on football betting odds and another who shares food recipes) maybe there is room to widen the scope of the platform into more diversified topics.

It is likely that many of these posts might end up being (un)fairly labelled as shitposts (in that they are not crypto related) and may only yield the blogger a few cents at a time, but it could be worth their while. Of course Publish0x’s editorial team have control and are the gateway for such bloggers to earn the right to write and that shouldn’t change at all so we still end up with high quality posts and the reporting mechanism should remain in place so that it is not abused.

Of course most of us want to read crypto news so the upvoting and downvoting will still drive the profile of such posts and they may disappear out of sight very quickly. Generally speaking a good post has a shelf life of about 24 hours before disappearing into the ether (sorry I have used that one before – just can’t resist it !!!).

A possible problem concerning widening the field comes down to funding. I don’t know how Publish0x funds the tips. On most similar sites (such as read:cash) it seems that it is necessary to pump the engine with your own crypto to get momentum going. This is not the case with Publish0x and a sudden influx of new bloggers could overwhelm this system and force a change on their current operating model (not something I want to see).

Just a thought to put out there. So now I have said it I am curious to see what others think.

Incidentally, if you don’t have an account yet, Cointiply is a free faucet with an excellent reputation. Earn free crypto by watching video adverts and clicking on Paid to Click adverts as well as rolling the faucet wheel. Complete surveys and other offers to earn more and then once you have 35,000 Coins start earning 5% interest on them for as long as you sustain at least that amount. I suggest joining on your PC and taking the additional reward when you download the mobile app.
