In my last post, I made some observations about my experience on Publish0x, which I think is my right as I am closing in on being a six year veteran and so that gives me some idea of what makes the site tick. I am revisiting it because some of the comments warrant a wider share and hence I am going to pick up and reiterate some of the things that I considered to be points of interest that were additionally underlined.

I want to start with the admins -

They are simply brilliant (yes Igor I am talking specifically about you) and I really don't know how the team do it. Do they have certain members allocated to them? Their "client service" is second to none and they easily put many corporations and especially social media platforms to shame. There is a real sense of connection with a real person who does their best to provide the support needed whether it be a technical issue (like my publishing page greying out) or whether it be something more community based. For example I do from time to time raise issue with comments on my posts, particularly those who are trying to spam a referral link, but also those that add nothing to the discussion and those that are irrelevant or nasty as there is no place for it. Admins typically come back to me within 24 hours and thus far almost always agree with me on the issue I raise. 

Incidentally it is something I do sparingly and only when I feel there is a real issue in the comment.

What has also become apparent is that it is not only I who feel that Publish0x is a community. A number of people shared comments about how they see their own platform experience and interaction (or lack of) with other bloggers. A couple of experiences suggested that I am not alone in deciding negatively against some bloggers, even if the reasons are not entirely the same as mine. This point was a central tenet of my former post and I went as far as to state that in some cases I consider the response (lack of) to simply be rude and this in itself says a lot about the blogger. Of course we choose where we place our tips, at the courtesy of  Publish0x of course, but surely it is in the blogger's best interest to make any posts as interesting as possible.

I simply no longer tip such articles or bloggers and that is their loss.

I know we are speaking micro-amounts, but lets say for example it is a blogger who I do visit everyday - I will say for example PVM and Cryptonator, a couple of bloggers who I have a lot of respect for (not only them but that is off the top of my head) - and the average tip is 0.005 USDC (sometimes more, sometimes less) and I tip every day that comes out at 0.15 USDC a month or 1.80 USDC a year. Now that doesn't sound like a lot but if you look after your followers and engage them, then 10 followers make that 1.50 USDC a month or 18.00 USDC a year and then if that becomes 100 suddenly the tips can be worth 180.00 USDC a year.

Personally, and AI described me as being small but moderately influential on P0x, I try to achieve at least 5 USDC a month and since the switch to USDC I have indeed been achieving this and that I believe is thanks to the community and your willingness to engage with me and see what I have to say, even if it is about my children. 

Admittedly this is a bit of a fake figure because while on one hand posts attract somewhere between 100-2000 visits (and not everybody tips) their shelf life is at best an estimated 36 hours and often less as newer posts supplant them. Of course if somebody wants a deeper dive into who you are and what you blog about they are likely to visit stuff from your entire history.

Then, and finally, while as Igor said, if it was perfect it would be boring, there is a sense of people wanting community to belong. One commenter even went as far as to say he liked sharing to gathering different perspectives and isn't that exactly what community is. A coming together from different backgrounds with different views sharing experience on a common platform?
