Are you ready to buy your very first NFT on WAX?
First, let's make sure you have everything you need, then buying should be a snap!
What you'll need:
1) Wax Wallet - You can register on MyCloudWallet.com
2) Wax Tokens - You'll need to purchase WAX tokens with a card - Just go to AtomicHub.io and login, then you should click on the hamburger button next to your wax id:
This menu will show up and you can follow the instructions here to buy WAX tokens via Banxa (expensive) or use an exchange like Kucoin:
Note: There will be a few more steps on the exchange apps.
If you have a Binance account or Kucoin account, you'll have to transfer your WAXP tokens to your WAX account (for example, k32nm.wam).
3) Enough RAM/CPU on your Wax Account - Sometimes you'll be asked to spend additional tokens to enable you to transact on the blockchain. This can be a relatively small amount like 10 WAX (at the time of writing this article in August 2023).
You will be notified if you run out of RAM or CPU and asked to stake more WAX tokens.
Buy your first NFT on WAX!
Let's start by visiting a very popular marketplace for WAX NFTs. It was around from the earliest days of WAX, but it isn't the only place you can buy NFTs. We'll cover the advantages and uses of other marketplaces in another post.
1) Go to AtomicHub.io
2) Click Market
3) Select the Farmers World collection - Then see if you can sort the listed NFTs by Price(Lowest Priced)
4) Find the cheapest asset, like Farmer Coin and click Buy Now
5) Click Buy and Confirm the Transaction
6) Go to My Inventory by clicking the hamburger button next to your Wax id.
In the top right corner of the web page click this button, then My Inventory.
Congratulations! You've purchased your first WAX NFT. Go and find some more! Or better yet, try listing an NFT on the market and see if you can make a small profit.
FAQ: Don't see your NFT purchase?
You should see your new NFT here. If not, there are some NFT collections that are "not whitelisted" or "don't have badges". This means they need to be revealed by clicking a special option button - this one, in particular:
This button is special to AtomicHub which has a pretty remarkable whitelisting process for NFT collections. Other marketplaces have different terms for this, but it is usually "whitelisted" or "not whitelisted" collections. You still own the NFTs, they just may not be visible until you click or unclick this option.
