The world's population has reached eight billion people, a staggering and frightening number, isn't it?!!!
The world's population is growing rapidly and alarmingly. Man was created to inhabit the earth, but it seems that he has exaggerated reconstruction, because the earth has become threatened by a set of climatic problems, the first of which is caused by man himself, depleting the conditions of life on earth by industrialization that reached the level of destruction.
Despite our knowledge of the damage caused by industry in all its different ways, we do not give it much importance to reduce the issue of industrialization that destroys the earth in general and threatens human life in particular.
The developed countries still follow their industry on a large scale, not caring what happens to the poor countries . The industries undertaken by these rich countries are the direct cause of the global warming problem, which results in a number of natural disasters in poor countries such as droughts, floods, earthquakes, famine, and the list is too long to mention it .
The phenomenon of global warming occurs as a result of the accumulation of pollutants in the atmosphere, especially greenhouse gases, which make the atmosphere work like a plastic house, so the earth retains heat, and this leaves a great negative impact on the environment and destroys its elements. Therefore, it can be said that global warming represents a major challenge in the modern era, and radical solutions must be found to prevent the situation from getting worse.
To solve this problem, Kyoto Protocol was initiated ,It is an annual summit attended by 197 countries in order to discuss climate change, and what these countries are doing to confront and address this problem.
Since 1994, when the treaty entered into force, the United Nations has annually brought together nearly every country on Earth to attend global climate summits, known as "COP," which stands for "Conference of the Parties."
These days it's hosted by the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh, starting from the 6th of November, until the 18th of the same month.
All eyes are on this summit, which is attended by world leaders and high-ranking officials of the United Nations, as well as thousands of environmental activists from all over the world.
I wonder if this summit is really efficient to take severe measures supposed to limit the problem of global warming.
All the industrial countries are responsible directly of this problematic, therefore, It has ratified the Kyoto agreement aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Among the proposed solutions is to reduce the use of means of transportation and other things that cause the emission of toxic gases. But, what we notice is beyond the reality of those measures taken, the environment still suffers and the atmosphere still sways from time to time. It seems that the Cop's commitments did not give their fruits yet. The whole world still suffers and there is a wide consensus that the Earth's surface temperatures have increased in recent decades, and that this increase is mainly caused by human-caused greenhouse gas emissions.
Renewable energies are considered the main important alternative reducing pollution or what we call also green energy, an environmentally friendly as it reduces pollution levels in the atmosphere. The use of this energy does not require combustion processes, such as those that occur when burning fossil fuels, and therefore greenhouse gases are not emitted And pollutants in the atmosphere, and therefore they reduce air pollution, and maintain a clean and healthy environment, in contrast to human activities that depend on fossil fuels, such as coal and natural gas, they produce emissions and gases that harm the atmosphere with carbon dioxide, in addition to emissions caused by global warming.
Research centers specializing in the field of renewable energy in its various forms are making efforts in an attempt to improve its yield, but the pace of this improvement is not fast enough for it to become more widespread in the industrial field or in the field of transportation that consumes the most energy.
In any case, and despite some skeptical opinions about the future of renewable energies and regardless of the environmental goals set, the spread of the use of clean energy is undoubtedly expanding but not enough to regulate the global warming Issue definitely, because the commitments that countries made to reduce carbon emissions at times fell far short of the goals set by the conference.
The main question that triggers our mind is : To what extent do these countries stick to the commitments agreed about in the conferences ??!!!
Do humans really care to resolve the problem of global warming, if the answer yes, why they don't apply the instructions of the conferences they made through years?!! If the answer is no, does human's greed for wealth and evolution represents the priority for them more than for their survival and earth's safety?!!!
Many questions are still unanswered yet and the world is still in danger, a danger that grows through days and years.
There is more to say about the subject, but I conclude my article by my making a wish that humans become more aware about the fact of global warming and of their duty to save humanity beside all the creatures of the earth through caring more about nature and the environment that are the most important criterias to conserve our life and survival as well.
Thanks for taking time to read.
