you appeared
from underneath a rock
Cheeky
winking
hoping I won’t catch
your arrogant walk.
A scientist
with a clear message
I look at you
you stare back
I open my eyes
Why are you still there?

but this is real
I say to my brain.
Close your lids
and I’ll revisit again
until you understand
the transformation
