Justin Sun killed STEEM.

Justin Sun killed STEEM.

Hive got launched yesterday, and that wasn't done without a ton of controversy.

First off, Binance and Huobi, who were previously accused of supporting Justin Sun with their share of STEEM(and subsequently denied the allegations) were among the first exchanges to support the Hive hardfork. Possibly in a bid to save their names, but this might just be another part of Sun's plan to crash the party at Hive, given his close friendship with those two exchanges (and the fact that all of them are Chinese, including Sun himself)

Apart from that, it seems that Justin Sun didn't sell his share of STEEM after the hardfork to completely crash the price. I don't know why he didn't, but that didn't stop the price of STEEM from falling like a dropped hot potato.

STEEM, which gained over 200% in the form of artificial pumps from people who wanted free Hive tokens, lost ALL of those gains and then some between yesterday and today.

Like that wasn't enough, the volume dropped by more than half of its original value (before the fork). This means that people sold off their STEEM holdings due to higher valuation of Hive over STEEM.

Justin Sun basically killed STEEM, and I don't think the platform can ever be the same again.

He does have good plans for STEEM, planning to port it over to the Tron chain. But that would only centralise the decentralised platform, and cause more problems than it would fix.

Decentralised publishing platforms always have more users than centralised ones, because they can freely express themselves without fearing getting banned. And while STEEMIT did have its flaws, it was one of the better decentralised publishing platforms out there.(more or less the only one)

Would STEEM ever be like it was before?

Most probably not. With more than 70% of the development team(a set of very skilled people by the way), and almost all the users enthusiastic and ready to port over to Hive when it's ready, I feel that STEEM is finally dead. This was the final nail in the coffin, and it shows.

STEEM would be just another shitcoin, unless there are enough purists to support the price.

I feel though that Justin Sun could pump the price artificially and get his money back if he wanted. Seems like something he would do.

I would be doing an article on the new Hive platform once it's ready, so hit that follow button to become part of those who see it first.(Thank you for 950 followers by the way!)

Thanks for reading.
