Ever since Bitcoin fell, and Ethereum fell, many people have abandoned the market and have just been floating about, doing nothing.
Some people actually called crypto "a scam" on twitter. Some even called Bitcoin a scam. Noice. We're at that level now.
However, I trade mostly for a living. I'm a student, but I made a decision to stop depending on my parents for money about 3 years ago. I fully achiever that decision February last year, and not only were they proud of me, I was pretty proud of myself.
I'm now fully self funded, and the crypto market is my main source of income
What that means is that I'm willing to spend hundreds of dollars a month on tools that will make it easier for me to make money in the market.
Long before the crash, I wanted to trade alts that were moving fast, because I wanted to increase my Bitcoin and Ethereum holdings as quickly and easily as possible. So I set aside 2ETH and 1BTC from my portfolio(which only comprises of Bitcoin and Ethereum by the way) to trade alts specifically.
Then I decided to build a tool that would send me alerts once certain criteria have been met in a coin in the market. These criteria are decided according to my trading methods, which I share to my followers on my personal blog.(I have never posted the link to my personal blog here so it's not like I want to make money off of this audience. If you want a link to check out the blog, indicate below and I will send you one.)
So I headed on to Fiverr and found a programmer willing to create me a market scanner for $150. This scanner alerted me of coins with set ups that met my trading plans criteria. I had previously backtested this strategy myself for over 6 months and had massive returns on the demo account I was testing it in.
So after a few weeks, he created the scanner and I started using it to make some money.
Then, a few days ago, after the market fell, the scanner alerted me that a trade set up was completed on STEEM.
Now I've always not really been a fan of STEEM. I don't like the controversy behind it, neither do I like how hard it is to make any sort of money on the site.
But I leave my emotions on the door mat when I enter the room of trading, so I didn't really care. A set up was formed on STEEM. I entered the set up with 0.5ETH, which was about 20% of my position at the time.(if you remember, I said that I started off with 1ETH. I made quite some profit with this scanner)
And then today, this happened.

I had just woken up from a nap(school was cancelled, yay) and saw that I had made 80% on my STEEM trade.
Now, I'm not sure why, because my scanner suggested I take 40% due to rising volume, which was decent. But as is usually with my plan, I set sell orders where I don't expect price to go, so that if it does go there, I wouldn't expect it.😉
So I sold the equivalent of 0.2ETH at an 80% profit.
Now I don't know what caused the pump in price, because that isn't your regular everyday grind up. This was probably whales.
I'll do a little research, and get back to you guys soon.
Also, I don't sell my scanners, so please don't see this as a way to arouse your interest and make you buy it. I don't sell anything to the audience here. Thanks!
