I like writing lists.
Very short lists.
Lest I forget.
And this I found to be true for myself.
Almost like my own home-bred philosophy.
No matter what visited my life, I found two things that got me through life:
1. That I did my best.
2. That I laughed at myself.
I suppose that's what happens when you've done all you could.
And things still don't go your way.
You can either get mad, quit, or laugh at how ridiculous it all is.
And you can take a different path if you want.
After all, if you've exhausted everything, what more is there to do.
Rest, relax, recharge, reboot.
And make time to laugh at yourself.
For we can be darn funny when we get all serious.
You can also do something else.
But sometimes you won't see that until you step back a bit.
Sometimes, you have to distance yourself from things.
Let things settle down a bit.
And let things breathe more.
Whatever surfaces after the dust settles, will surely be sound.
But when you're in the midst of all your plans and activities, things sometimes aren't too clear.
But the important thing really are those two things:
1. That you did your best.
2. That you laughed at yourself.
Don't laugh at others.
They make not take your humor kindly.
Laugh at yourself and your craziness.
Laugh at yourself and your methods.
Laughter elevates the soul.
It relaxes your being.
It tosses out the ego.
It also clarifies thinking.
The cells of your body get happy.
Your brain relaxes.
They may just give your fresh ideas.
Do your best and laugh.
Two very simple things that seem to work.
Some things are beyond us, no matter how hard we try.
And maybe we all try too hard.
Maybe we ought to know when to trust and allow.
And to give ourselves a pat on the back for work well done.
And laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.
There are really many funny things in this world.
Starting with myself.
