Do you know what an important difference I have noticed between the attitude towards a person in Russia and the United States?
In Russia, your smile, politeness and friendliness are often perceived as weakness. And in order to achieve results (I mean all kinds of authorities, social institutions, etc.), it is very often necessary to use force: raise your voice, demand respect for your rights, start threatening to complain... In the USA, you don't need this, you're ready to go fight, and everyone believes you, you get more than you expected. Conversely, aggressive behavior is perceived here as a deviation, for which trouble can come.
I recently heard a story, good friends told me about the school where their youngest son studies. So, many people who have recently arrived from the Russian Federation live in their area. There are many Russian-speaking children in the school. One Russian-speaking girl had a conflict with a local boy. Well, it was and it was, everyone forgot. But the girl was determined to take revenge. A couple of days later, she secretly set fire to this boy's backpack. There was an emergency at the school, the fire was extinguished immediately, dangerous situations were not allowed, the girl was identified by cameras. BUT, here it's just nonsense, aggressive and dangerous behavior. The girl was expelled from school. Parents have been ordered to consult a psychologist with their child, and if this is ignored, there may be serious consequences. The whole school is in shock, the scandal is all over the town. I think that the Russian school would try to hush up, hide and silence everything... What do you think about it?
I must say right away that Russians are different, and by fitting everyone into the same stereotype, it's easy to make mistakes and draw wrong conclusions. But in reality, in Russia, good manners, shyness, and culture are perceived as weaknesses. Moreover, aggression is spread horizontally, but not vertically. They hate each other, they fawn over those in power. I have repeatedly noticed that in a store they can push a cart and not apologize, and then leave this cart across the aisle so that it is impossible to get to the checkout. They insult others easily and with pleasure, but when you suggest contacting officials on some issue, they immediately say "they know better there," "we are small people," "nothing depends on us.".. In schools and kindergartens, active children have priority. If a child is shy, he will sit as a spectator at all events. There is a lot of talk about an individual approach, but in practice it does not exist.
God has given man freedom of choice. And no other person has the right to take it away from you. I remain free and wish you all the same, to be free!
