In Russia, they are once again talking about some incredible assistance that the "Russian Empire" provided to the young United States during the War of Independence. Trump should appreciate this with a show-off. This is such a strong exaggeration and a blatant lie that it is even embarrassing...
In what way can one country help another in a war? There are many ways. Did Russia send its troops to America? - No. Maybe it supplied weapons to the colonists? - No. Financial assistance is also very important... well, did Russia at least help Washington with money? - No. Then maybe it opened a Second Front - landed troops on the British Isles or began to sink British ships? - also NO.
All of Russia's assistance consisted of only one thing - in 1780, on the initiative of Empress Catherine II, the League of Armed Neutrality was created, aimed at protecting the shipping of neutral countries. This happened when the Spanish mistakenly captured Dutch and Russian ships carrying grain to Mediterranean ports. Denmark and Sweden joined the League, and then Holland, Prussia, Austria and Portugal.
Did this help the United States? - Yes. Neutral countries were able to legally trade with England's enemies, supplying them with vital resources. Great Britain found itself in complete international isolation. Did Catherine want to help America? - No. The war had been going on for five years by that time. The Empress was concerned about the direct damage to Russian trade (export of timber, furs, hemp and grain). There was also a desire to screw Great Britain. Catherine the Second did not care about the States, especially since she herself had just suppressed the Pugachev rebellion with great difficulty. In private correspondence, Catherine called the Americans "rebels" who had risen up against their legitimate king. She had no sympathy for republican ideals.

Rosstat has finally classified demographic data for Russia. The last update of the "Demography" section ends in March. Since then, data on the number of births, deaths, as well as data on the number of marriages and divorces, have disappeared from the report. This is the largest demographic collapse in the last 200 years.
- Banning childfree propaganda did not help.
- Banning the LGBT "movement" did not help.
- Measures to ban abortions in a number of Russian regions did not help.
- Stimulating the birth rate with the help of schoolgirls and a fabulous 100k did not help.
- And even declaring last year the "year of the family" did not help.
The government is taking so many measures to increase the birth rate, but for some reason they do not work. I wonder why? What do you think?
I will only add that even before the war, Russia's demographics were in complete disarray, so it is not clear who will live here in the near future; in a long-standing UN forecast, they predicted that without migrants, Russia's population would shrink to 65 million by the end of the century.
