German: Our pastor prays for the soldiers. He says that God is with those who protect their people. Our soldiers are not murderers, they are doing their duty.
Journalist: And if civilians die? Women, children?
Did you know that the German army destroyed the electrical substations in Leningrad, and now the residents of the city are freezing without electricity and heat?
German: It's a war. Yes, it's a tragedy, but it's not our fault. If they hadn't resisted, none of this would have happened. It's their choice, we didn't start it. Our cities are also being bombed, and our women and children are also being killed. Why don't you talk about it?
Journalist: And if the propaganda is lying to you?
German: Why would they lie? Our Fuhrer wants to raise a strong Germany. He gave us work, order, and hope. We trust him. When the war is over, then we will figure out who is right or wrong.
Journalist: And you're ready to die for that?
German: If it pleases God, yes. It is better to die for the motherland than to live on your knees. God is with us, and that's right.
