There are 7 types of contrast. Today we will talk about one - it is a contrast in tone.
Contrast in tone. In this kind of contrast, monochrome colors are contrasted. They can be both achromatic (black-white or shades of gray) and chromatic. That is, different shades of the same color are compared with each other.
I will show by example how I built a photo on contrast in tone.
It was evening and it was already getting dark. I was lying on the beach. And now the sun is about to disappear. For photos on the phone, the lighting is not very good. I was about to leave, but I looked at the brightness of the water and asked my friend and daughter to come to the water.
I moved away so that I could get a long-range plan and the silhouettes of the main characters appeared against the background of the water.
This is where the tonal contrast manifests itself.
The silhouettes are dark, against a light background of water. Contrast between dark and light in the image.
Silhouettes were clearly written on the bright water and a very nice photo turned out.
Use my example and place light objects on a dark background and dark objects on a light background, and then you will always have the main object stand out in tone and be perfectly readable in the frame.
