I was wondering how it happened that the people of Germany, among whom there were many educated and intelligent people, began to support and justify the bloody and treacherous war that Hitler unleashed? There is an Internet connection, I took the time to study a story that is not told in school, and brought out the main theses.

The justification of the war unleashed by Nazi Germany under the leadership of Adolf Hitler was based on propaganda, manipulation and the creation of the illusion that the war was supposedly necessary and just. The Nazi regime used economic, ideological and psychological methods to convince the German people and justify aggression.

The main theses of propaganda.
- National economic recovery:
Germany was in an economic crisis after the First World War and the Great Depression. Nazi propaganda claimed that the country needed the living space and resources necessary for economic prosperity.

- Revanchism after the Treaty of Versailles:
The Nazis accused the Treaty of Versailles (1919) of injustice, humiliation and economic ruin of Germany. Hitler promised to restore the lost ancestral territories and return Germany to its greatness and sovereignty.

- Supremacism and racism:
The Nazi ideology was based on the belief in the superiority of the "Aryan race." Hitler justified the aggression by the need to "cleanse" the world of "inferior races" that pose a threat, and create a new world order in which Germany will take its rightful place.

- Anti-communism:
The Soviet Union was presented as an enemy of Germany and the whole of Europe. Nazi propaganda portrayed the war against the USSR as a crusade against the "Bolshevik threat", which seeks to seize everything.

- "Germany's external enemies":
Propaganda portrayed Poland, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Soviet Union as aggressive enemies who allegedly planned to attack Germany. This was used to justify preventive military action and a first strike.

- Falsification of incidents:
Hitler used staged events to present Germany as a victim. Example: The Gleiwick incident (1939), when the Nazis staged a Polish attack on a German radio station to justify the invasion of Poland.

- The role of the Ministry of Propaganda:
Joseph Goebbels, the head of Nazi propaganda, used mass information (newspapers, radio, movies, posters) to create a sense among the population of the correctness of the regime's actions. The Germans looked at the war as a means of "saving" Germany and Europe.

- Glorification of military force:
Propaganda portrayed the armed forces as a guarantee of the security and pride of the nation. The victories of the first years of the war (1939-1941) were actively emphasized to strengthen confidence in the regime.

- The cult of Hitler's personality:
Hitler was perceived as a "leader" who could lead Germany out of the crisis and raise the country. His decisions were considered indisputable.

- Control and repression:
All those who disagreed with the policy of the Nazis were subjected to repression, which suppressed criticism and created the appearance of unanimous support for the war.

- The militarization of society:
Education in the spirit of militarism began at an early age through the Hitler Youth and other Nazi organizations. This formed loyalty to the ideas of war.

- Using Christianity:
The Nazis claimed that they were defending Christian Europe from the threat of atheistic communism.

- Historical parallels:
Propaganda referred to Germany's glorious past and past victories, including references to the Holy Roman Empire, in order to justify the historical right to restore its former power.

The results of these justifications:
The Nazi regime created a whole system of propaganda and manipulation to convince the German people of the justice and necessity of the unleashed war. This made it possible to gain broad support in the initial phase of the war and conceal the true goals of aggression.
However, over time, as military defeats and civilian casualties increased, support for the war began to weaken, which led to increased discontent in the last years of the war. Which is quite logical, propaganda cannot lie forever.

Does it remind you of anything?

PS. In order not to embarrass anyone, I ask you to refrain from making emotional comments. Anyone who wants to will understand everything.
