Hello everyone in my first post about creating my own computer game.
I am a person who has never had anything to do with programming and creating games before and I gained all my knowledge for free on the Internet.
Just over a year ago, if someone asked me if there was a chance that I would learn the whole game engine environment myself and create my title in it, I would say that this is total nonsense and there are no such opportunities.
I know games and I'm interested in everything related to them, including gamedev, and I know it's a heavy piece of bread. The work on creating games is arduous, difficult and requires a lot of time. Especially when we talk about beautiful graphics with extensive mechanics.
Yes, I saw games created by one person but usually they were titles that were graphically in the style of retro games from the old days and were created by people who were somehow related to this or similar industry.
And where in all this is me, a guy who has never had anything to do with programming, creating models or entire scenes? I didn't know that at the time.
It all started with the fact that I accidentally came across the Unreal Engine tab in the Epic Games application. And I saw that their proprietary game development engine is fully free (previously the license costs for such engines were astronomical). I was very happy about this fact and I immediately downloaded it starting my journey. Of course, the entry threshold was huge for me, not only that everything in a foreign language in addition to a very specialized one is also a lot of options that overwhelms with complexity and makes it impossible to know what to do.
Fortunately, the internet is full of free tutorials and you can understand everything if you want to. Now, after a year, I feel strong enough to work on my title and build my first mechanics.
Of course, I'm not talking about some high-flying work done from scratch. Oh no no, this game will be made up of many free assets. I want to show that if you want to, you can start learning very hard but also profitable field if you want to.
I will report here the progress of work and reveal a little bit details of my work.
