The Grand Canyon is one of the most well known National Parks in the USA and around the world. It is one of the 7 wonders of the natural world that receives more than 6 million visitors a year (not accounting for COVID). The stunningly large and beautiful natural phenomenon stretches for miles and miles. I visited the Grand Canyon around 4 years ago so bear with me if the pictures are slightly lower quality than previously expected.
This is not technically part of The Grand Canyon but the river running through it is also the Colorado River. They are connected. As you can see, the Horse Shoe Canyon is named after its iconic shape. The area around it is very windy and while I was there, I was buffeted by the strong winds and sand that surrounded the canyon. It is truly awe-inspiring.
This is a panorama of the Grand Canyon and really shows the scale of the canyon. It stretches for further than the eye can see on a clear day. Because of the scale, it really makes someone feel a little insignificant.
This is a little more zoomed-in photo of the canyon. You can see the lines and ridges that the Colorado River has carved into the canyon.
