I hit a small milestone today. After six posts and about 20 hours of work, I finally crossed the $1 mark in earnings from blogging. It is just a dollar. But it feels like the beginning of something. Let me walk you through how it has gone so far.
I've been writing under the handle Pennypay here on Publish0x. My blog posts focus on the gritty side of online earning platforms. I expose the ones that promise quick cash but leave you hanging dry. I share what actually happens when I try earning. No fluff. Just my time. And proof of payouts, or lack of them.
Here's my blog lineup so far:
- First Bet, First Blog – My intro post. Basic stuff about starting out.
- The End of Freebitco.in? Why the Famous Faucet Stopped Paying – I investigated why Freebitco.in stopped paying users.
- The Dangers of Bandwidth Sharing: My Experience with Honeygain – This one blew up. 50 likes. Hit page 1 of popular posts.
- Upcoming Changes at EarnBitMoon: Payeer Withdrawals Ending Soon – Total flop. Buried fast by other blogs. Zero earnings still.
- How Public.com Stole My Bitcoin – Frustrating story how I lost some crypto to bad practices.
- Watch-to-Earn 2026: Less Pay, More Work – A decade of video-earning apps dating back to Perk TV
Total views across all: around 4,491 in the last 30 days. Earnings: $1.01. Likes: 117. One post got everything. The Honeygain warning. It resonated because bandwidth sharing gets hyped everywhere, but the downsides are rarely talked about.
I spend 3-4 hours per post on average. Research. Testing apps. Writing. Editing. That totals maybe 20 hours. About $0.05 per hour.
What stands out is the competition. Scroll through Publish0x and you will spot them. AI written pieces. They flood the platform. I understand they are in it for quick tips. But I am trying to do this differently. I only recommend what I use myself. And I want to warn others about what to avoid.
That one flopped blog post hurts a bit. The EarnBitMoon one. I posted it a few days after my most successful blog so far. I thought the momentum would continue to carry. Newer blogs came out soon after and it never really gained traction. Still I didn't give up. And the struggle to earn that first dollar blogging means something. Maybe my warnings also helped a few people. That is the goal.
Thanks for the likes, follows and tips. Seriously. And thanks for reading this far. If you are into honest reviews on earning apps then stick around. I put effort in because maybe some day I will earn more than just $1 from blogging.
What about you? Earned your first dollar blogging? Let me know how your experience has been.
