Q : 80% rewards penalty for bad delegation?

Why do we see that message?

80% rewards penalty for bad delegation?

To enforce the decentralisation, there is a multiplier set for Delegating to a "Good Tribe"

A "Good Tribe" is defined as a tribe with less than 0.5% Voting Weight

When you want to stake, you might see that message (in red in the picture), for 2 reasons :

1) Glitch in the page code, see below to check if you meet the "Good Tribe" requirements

2) You're indeed delegate to a "Bad Tribe". It can be the case if you created a new account/wallet, as the default tribe has a lot of voting weight. To fix that, follow the instructions in this link to choose another tribe

Check my current tribe

To check if your tribe is a "Good Tribe", follow the steps below:

1) Get your tribe name/address by

- open your wallet, go to your account (paw_1oiqw... as in the above picture) and check the tribe name like in pitcure below (CatKayDee Tribe) OR

Get Account Detail

- use https://tracker.paw.digital/ and search with your account address to get your tribe (representative) like below

get Account Tribe

You can now check the tribe weight (with the address), via tracker as above. If you used tracker, you can just click on the representative link. If you used the wallet method, you'll need to get the tribe address and check in tracker

When you're on the tracker page for the tribe address, you'll see something like :

6238d87977c085cf4bf376b32d34ba4cd87fa0261dd4ffdd620cb7260dc286e7.png

In this example, the tribe has 0.05% voting weight, it is a "Good Tribe"

NOTE : if using Biome, if you have only 1 account or if you delegate all your accounts to the same tribe, you can also rely on the following information :
