How many times have I heard this expression mostly from Millennial. The so- called thing, YOLO!!!

When you asked them how does life been treating them, mostly those who are entering the young professionals stage (meaning they just landed a job after university) often times you would hear them saying, "YOLO!!!!) And how do they do the so called YOLO stuff?

  • travelling here and there to the point of getting huge debts in order not to miss out friend's outing overseas.
  •  spending more than their capacity to earn because on the society's norm that they must have the new released gadgets, fashion, make up, bags etc..  (a colleague of mine back in Doha would always have a new iPhone in the market yet she borrowed money from me and forgot to pay until she got terminated)
  • buying things that are not of need but merely on wants!
  • eating out almost every day because it feels good to dine out thus expensive restaurants are not a problem after all.

Well there's nothing wrong with living life to the fullest as we are meant to be doing so, however at an early age of 16 if I remembered it very well, paying my own bills, taking care of my household chores, being independent, YOLO doesn’t have any part of my agenda. I have seen how this YOLO things created so much havoc to those friends of mine who forgot that there is tomorrow when it comes to expenses. We may have a different perspective of living only once in our lifetime but we have to consider that we cannot just  be wasting time simply because of YOLO!

Yes, we only have one life to live (unless you have a superpower then you can have another lifetime) but the point is, how do you live it?

Back when my ex-boyfriend (now my hubby) and I were still dating in Doha, since I don’t know my way to that hotel where we supposed to meet for the first time (actually it was recommended by a friend) so I asked her to accompany me instead. She has been living in the Middle East for two years so she knew her way around the area. True enough, (my hubby) at that time arrived too early and like I mentioned from my previous post, I was not really so into him so I was thinking of matchmaking the two.
