Who doesn't want to make money for nothing? Or at least for doing exactly what they're already doing. Well that is exactly the point of this blog! I highlight passive ways of generating income; the goal is always the most money for the least effort.
Honeygain is perfect for those of you out there who are internet addicted. It is likely you already have an unlimited home internet plan that provides you with endless bandwidth that you aren't making full use of. Honeygain takes your excess bandwidth and sells it to the highest bidder, allowing you to make some extra money. Now don't get too excited, no one is getting rich with their software. But for a basic user who is putting in little effort this badboy can get you a solid 50 cents to a dollar a day. It doesn't sound like much but it adds up! That's between $180 and $360 dollars a year! And it feels even better since there is virtually no effort.
The process is simple. Signup on their website with just an email address, and download their software. It's available on Android, Mac, and PC. You are allowed up to 3 devices per IP Address, with an unlimited number of IP addresses able to be associated with your account. The software will run in the background on your device, and I don't personally notice any drag on my systems performance after testing the application on both Android and PC.
Honeygain pays out via Paypal after you reach a balance of $20 or more. Now I have a policy that I will be following of not writing about methods that haven't paid me. I have received the payout from Honeygain, as have many others, and can attest that it will pay out. Nothing is more frustrating than waiting patiently to reach the payout threshold and finding out you're not going to be rewarded for your effort!
The mobile application is well designed, and straightforward. It has settings on your Android device that can be set so it only sells bandwidth on a wi-fi connection, or if you choose for it to operate on Data, you can set a cap for it to stop at so you don't get into data overage charges. It provides you with statistics showing you exactly how much data it has moved down to the Megabyte. And they make their rates very clear of $.10 per 1GB. You can expect a single device to net you a minimum of 3 or 4GB per day.
Honeygain does have a referral system as these companies often do. If you are referred by an existing user you will receive a $5 starting bonus, which is a good nudge towards the minimum payout balance I mentioned earlier. And that user will receive a %10 bonus based on your earnings for the duration you use the software. You can see a tally of how many people have used your personal referral, but the only personal information you can gather to identify them is the very first letter of their email address and the date and time they joined. I assume this is so you can easily identify friends/family you may have referred to create an account.
Now let's be clear, there is no way to make money without some downside. Trust me I'm always on the lookout. While I personally haven't noticed any affect on my internet speeds since I've been using Honeygain it is possible you may. Although they state they set their software to only ever use 10% of your available bandwidth to prevent it from affecting your activities.
Another negative is you are allowing this company access to your internet connection. There is no way of seeing what information they are moving through your personal network.The paranoid among you may shy away from Honeygain due to this. This company firmly states they sell your bandwidth to reputable, and trustworthy companies and that they know exactly how these companies are using it. But they aren't giving any examples to go off of to validate their claims.
In the end is Honeygain a good option for passive income? I chose Honeygain to highlight first because simply, it is as passive as you can get. Once you launch the software there is no effort and really no reason to touch it again for days or weeks. It's lazy money generation and that is the epitome of this blog's purpose. Who can say no to an extra dollar a day?
