Typically, Ripple opens a receiver on the first day of each month to free up a billion XRP in two lump sums of 500 mln each.
The XRP that Ripple takes from his escrow portfolio is used for investment and charitable purposes and to increase XRP's overall level of liquidity , according to a series of tweets from Brad Garlinghouse in late 2019.
Thereafter, generally, about 80% of these funds remained in receivership. Thus, the transfer of 100 mln today seems to have been unforeseen.
The company started putting the majority of the unlocked funds back into custody not too long ago.
Cryptographic exchanges transact 92.6 mln XRP
XRPL Monitor also provided data on transactions made by other major players in the crypto market while they were moving their XRP .
Overall, the bot reported transfers worth XRP 92.6 million - for $ 18,769,363 .
These millions of XRP were sent by the main Korean stock exchange Bithumb, the childcare service BitGo and the Ripple Github Giveaway wallet. Frequent XRP transfers prove that the fourth largest crypto (after Tether pushed it from point 3) remains one of the most popular crypto assets.
