- Bitcoin is getting livelier this week . By the way Bitcoin mining has revived the 124-year-old Mechanicville hydroelectric plant near Albany NY and saved it from closure. 14 years ago, on October 31, 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin Whitepaper (read here).

- After Ethereum's switch to Proof-of-Stake (PoS) on September 15, 2022, the power consumption of the network of the second cryptocurrency fell by more than 99.9%.

- Dogecoin (DOGE) overtakes Cardano (ADA) and Solana (SOL).

- The top 5 NFT marketplaces (Opensea, Axie, Magic Eden, Looksrare, X2Y2) exceed $40 billion in total sales. Opensea alone made more than $32 billion in sales out of the $40 billion. However, Opensea's dominance has fallen from 98% in January 2022 to 80% today.

- One of South Africa's largest supermarket chain "Pick n Pay" now accepts Bitcoin as a means of payment.
