- April 26, 2011 (12 years ago) - Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto sent one last email to Gavin Andresen and then disappeared taking with him 1,148,800 BTC, or 5% of all coins.

- USDT's market cap reached ~$81.5 billion, accounting for 63% of all stablecoins' market capitalization.

- Validators have voted to reduce fees by 40% on BNB Chain.

- Uniswap has officially crossed the $1.5 trillion transaction volume mark.

- The Solana team has created a plugin on ChatGPT to allow users to verify the contents of a wallet, transfer cryptos and buy NFTs via the chatbot's user interface.

- Mastercard has partnered with Solana, Polygon, Aptos, and Ava to develop a set of standards aimed at increasing trust in the blockchain ecosystem.

- Romania launches a national marketplace for NFTs in partnership with MultiversX (see my post about Xportal to enter into MultiversX).

- MiCA will replace the country-specific cryptocurrency regulatory framework in Europe and will come into force in January 2025, however NFT and DeFi are currently outside of MiCA.

- South Korea's central bank gets permission to investigate and monitor cryptocurrency businesses.

- Guatemalans can now use the Lightning Network (BTC) for cross-border payments.

- According to Kaspersky, crypto phishing attacks have increased by 40% in one year.
