- Bitcoin has blown its 14th candle! January 3, 2009 creates its first "genesis" block of 50 BTC. In 2022, the value of transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain exceeded $8 trillion.

- Citizens of the city of Lugano in Switzerland can now do most of their day-to-day purchases using only Bitcoin, "hundreds" of merchants accept BTC.

- Despite a bear market, more than 4000 cryptocurrency distributors were installed in 2022. Australia becomes 4th largest crypto ATM hub with 225 ATMs behind United States, Canada and Spain.
