The thing about the Bible is...
It's true.
One night, the Holy Spirit convicted me to check under the bed, in the corner where my cat liked to sleep. The place we were living was infested with scorpions, and I was on high alert for them all the time. Not for myself, but for my cats. I got up from where I was sitting, went into the bedroom, and looked under the bed.
Sure enough, in the corner my cat liked best, sat the biggest scorpion I had seen in that place so far. I moved the bed and killed it.
The devil tried to ambush me, but God warned me in advance.
Luke 10:19, in effect.
“Behold, I give unto you power to
tread on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the
enemy: and nothing shall by
any means hurt you.”
Luke 10:19
If you or someone you know is in Mexico right now, know that by God they can run through a troop and leap over a wall.
But you need God.
I passed through narco checkpoints and the border with an expired DL and license plates altered with a Sharpie last year FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN GOD ALLOWED ME TO. It's not my style to let things go like that, so I asked for confirmation numerous times when my spirit was told not to bother returning to the States to renew those documents. It's why I never thought I was coming back. But I can tell you from experience, the masked kid with an assault rifle who stops you on the highway CAN NOT DO ANYTHING THAT GOD DOESN'T ALLOW HIM TO DO.
God is in complete control over everything at all times. There are no exceptions.
But you need God. It's not optional.
