Chapter Sixty-Nine

1. I saw my weird little spider friend today.

2. He crawled out from under his pile of ice cubes on the ceiling; we shared a cup of dandelion tea and spoke of important global matters.

3. The price of ants, and the like.

4. He was concerned that the war between the fire ants and the ice ants would disrupt the global supply of cool.

5. He feared the dawn of yet another dark

6. Age of total lameness.

7. I told him his concerns were valid, but that we would get through it.

8. He gave me an abstract expressionist spiderweb sculpture to put on my bedside table.

9. I shared some intel I had recently acquired on the whereabouts of a new cloud of flies,

10. And a colony of smoke ants.

11. Mutual expressions of gratitude were not necessary. I knew he was my friend.

12. We finished our tea.

13. It had an aftertaste of meaningless.

14. He shook my hand, and crawled back into his hanging igloo.

15. I admired the craftsmanship of his web sculpture.

16. Then I went to sleep.

Capítulo Sesenta y Nueve

1. Hoy vi a mi extraña amigo arañita.

2. Salió de debajo de su montón de cubitos de hielo en el techo; compartimos una taza de té de diente de león y hablamos de asuntos globales importantes.

3. El precio de las hormigas, y cosas por el estilo.

4. Le preocupaba que la guerra entre las hormigas del fuego y las hormigas de hielo interrumpiera el suministro mundial de cool.

5. Temía el comienzo de otra era

6. Oscura de total lameness.

7. Le dije que sus preocupaciones eran válidas, pero que lo superaríamos.

8. Me regaló una escultura abstracta de telaraña para mi mesita de noche.

9. Compartí información que había obtenido recientemente sobre el paradero de una nueva nube de moscas,

10. Y una colonia de hormigas fumadoras.

11. No era necesario expresar gratitud mutua. Sabía que era mi amigo.

12. Terminamos el té.

13. Tenía un regusto a vacío.

14. Me estrechó la mano y volvió a meterse en su iglú colgante.

15. Admiré la maestría de su escultura de telaraña.
