Oaxaca Departure Poem

By Nathan Payne | pablosmoglives | 5 Feb 2020

Misty morning take-off,
clouds of rainbows
glowing

It’s like we’re flying through a soda

The sky is gray with bubbles

Gulf of Mexico below us—
shining rippled
copper

Cargo ships of Veracruz,
Galveston, New
Orleans

Tiny iron toys in a bath
tub of golden
fire

Poema de Salida de Oaxaca

Despegue matutino brumoso
nubes de arcoiris
brillante

Es como si estuviéramos volando a través de una soda

El cielo es gris con burbujas

Golfo de México debajo de nosotros—
brillante ondulado
cobre

Buques de carga de Veracruz,
Galveston, Nuevo
Orleans

Pequeños juguetes de hierro
en una bañera de fuego
dorado
