As Brave informed on their offical website:

Brave has filed a submission with the UK Competition & Markets Authority that shows that failing to enforce the GDPR enables Google’s monopoly. Brave’s submission also shows gaps in the CMA’s interim report on “Online platforms and digital advertising”.

They send official letter to UK Competition & Markets Authority on march 12th which you Can found on their website: https://brave.com/competition-internal-external/

But what is GDPR?

According to Wikipedia definition:

The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). It also addresses the transfer of personal data outside the EU and EEA areas.

Brave said that Google has violated the principle of “purpose limitation”. That rules requires organizations to only use data for a limited specific purpose. For example, collecting information on Google Fit must only be used to workouts things - not to personalised a sports related adverts to you.

What is interesting Brave earlier this month, published a report showing that over 400 councils in the UK have allowed at least one private company to track how visitors use its websites, and sell that information for profit..

What will be result os that complaint? - we need to wait for answer.
