1. Ethereum 2.0: Prysmatic Labs Rolls Out Topaz Testnet
Prysmatic Labs, a team of software engineers dedicated to making the Ethereum smart contracts blockchain better, has announced that the ETH 2.0 Topaz testnet will be launched on or before April 19, 2020, at exactly 00:00 UTC. The Prysmatic Labs team has hinted that the Topaz test network is quite unique, as it comes with the full Ethereum 2.0 Phase 0 mainnet configuration. 2. Binance Crypto Exchange Opens Up P2P Crypto Trading In Venezuela
Crypto trading in Venezuela just got a giant boost. Binance, pressed forward with its Latin American expansion by enabling its users to buy and sell crypto with bolivars, Venezuela’s national fiat currency. Binance's move makes a lot of sense. Venezuela has the highest volume of peer-to-peer cryptocurrency trading in the Americas, surpassing even the United States on P2P platforms. 3. Hardware Wallet Leader Ledger Adds Tron
Leading hardware wallet producer Ledger announced that its official wallet software now supports Tron (TRX). According to an announcement, Ledger Live the official wallet software for Ledger’s hardware wallets now allows its users to manage their Tron addresses. Ledger hardware wallet owners can also stake their TRX directly from the software. 4. Wyoming Allows Insurance Companies To Invest In Crypto
Institutional money, although small, may soon be coming from insurance firms based in Wyoming. The U.S. state of Wyoming has amended its insurance code to allow domestic insurance companies to invest in “digital assets” such as bitcoin. The amendment was passed last month and comes into effect on July 1. As per the new law, insurance companies are now allowed to invest in digital consumer assets. 5. BTCPay to Anonymize Bitcoin Transactions With New Integration
BTCPay, a popular open source tool for accepting bitcoin payments, is turning to PayJoin for preserving the privacy of those transactions. PayJoin (also called P2EP) is a relatively new way to send private transactions in bitcoin and may offer better privacy than current popular alternatives such as CoinJoin. The company plans to release an "initial" version of the P2EP privacy feature built into BTCPay on Thursday. In Grayscale latest quarterly report, company revealed, Grayscale and its Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) now holds almost 2% of the world’s Bitcoin (BTC) supply. GBTC now contains 1.7% of the circulating supply of Bitcoin. 9. Author of 'The Black Swan' Advised To 'Use Cryptocurrencies'
Nassim Taleb, author of The Black Swan, advised to 'Use Cryptocurrencies', through his Twitter handle. Taleb has urged Lebanese citizens to turn to cryptocurrencies, in response to a post about the Bank of Lebanon ordering foreign currency remittances to be paid out in the local currency.
