Have you ever considered going after the Cointpot monthly leaderboard? Have you ever tried to be among the top 25 users and get you share of the Coinpot Token (CT) reward? And how about making it to the very top, 1st place, and win the 10,000,000 CTs reward? At current value/exchange rate, 10,000,000 CTs is about $800-900, quite a substantial sum to be given on a monthly basis for free. I’m sure most of us have thought about it. But just how feasible is it to climb this ladder and finish in the top 25 Coinpot users? Despite all your efforts, You may actually have one and only one shot at finishing at the very top.
The monthly leaderboard
As currently structured, Cointpot rewards the 25 users that have accumulated the most bonus stars in a calendar month. The rewards range from a very anecdotal 1,000 CTs for places 20th-25th, to a substantial 10,000,000 CTs for the 1st place. A mid-rank 10th place would land you a modest 50,000 CTs.
As of a few days ago, the September leaderboard

In August, the user placed 25th accumulated a sizable 1,161 stars. In the meantime, the user ranked numero uno earned almost double that number, a a very impressive 2,157 stars. Does it look feasible? Impressive? Let’s see what it takes to reach these numbers. It requires a lot of time, dedication and possibly a lot of your CTs (yes, you'll have to use your CTs to potentially earn more CTs) to actually reach the top paying spots.

Earning your bonus stars
Bonus stars can be earned by completing a series of different challenges. Challenges come in 3 forms – Daily, Monthly and All-Time. Each challenge has 5 levels, each of these levels earning you an incremental number of stars, from 1 to 5 stars. Complete all 5 levels of a given challenge and you will earn 15 stars.

Just to cover the basis, Daily challenges are refreshed every day (8 PM, EST), meaning you can earn up to 15 stars every day. Monthly challenges can be completed only one time per month. You can spread the completion of the Monthly challenges over as many days as needed/wanted. Finally, All-Time challenges can be completed only once and for all.
Some of these All-Times challenges will be completed rather quickly, maybe even without you noticing. Depending on your level of commitment, Daily & Monthly Faucet claims, Multiplier rolls, and CTs stacked challenges can be completed fairly easily. All-Time “Multiplier Roll exactly 999” is an All-Time challenge you should have no problem completing as well. Daily & Monthly Lottery ticket purchase, although easy to complete, will inevitably cost you CTs, a lot of CTs. A few All-Time challenges, such as Lottery wins & runners-up are, objectively, nearly impossible to complete.
There’s an additional feature that can be used to make extra monthly bonus stars. According to your VIP Rewards level (Standard to Diamond), you can earn up to 5 additional stars per month. While this is nice, these extra 5 stars won’t help you much climb the leaderboard if you can’t already collect a large amount of bonus stars to start with.

Think you can make it to the top? Think again
Now that you have your Daily, Monthly and All-Time bonus star targets, how much can you actually accumulate per month? Let’s assume for a second the best scenario: you can complete ALL of your Daily and Monthly challenges, not a day is missed. For the sack of the argument, let’s use a 31-day month (to compare to the August leaderboard).
4 Daily Challenges: Faucet claims, Multiplier rolls, CTs stacked and Lottery ticket purchased:
Max bonus stars = 4 x 15 x 31 = 1860 stars
4 Monthly Challenges: same as above
Max bonus stars = 4 x 15 = 60 stars
In our ideal scenario where you can complete all Daily and Monthly challenges you would earn 1920 bonus stars in one month (31 days). In this perfect world you would only finish… 3rd of the August leaderboard, trailing 2nd place by 123 stars, and at an astonishing 237 stars behind 1st place. Yes, this is the best case scenario, and it's unlikely to ever happens.
I don’t know where you are at, but as a dedicated, however casual, Coinpot user I’m on track to finish September with a laughable ~650 stars. And in that total, I have already benefited from several All-Time challenges bonus stars. 1920 (or 1860 if the month as 30 days) stars is an absolute feat to accomplish when you actually think about it.
Taking a closer look at the Daily challenges, claiming the 7 Coinpot faucets 750 times every 24h for 31 days in a row is probably the most challenging and time-consuming task. Even on my best days I can’t imagine doing more than ~300 faucet claims. 750 times, every day, for a month? I'll have to pass.
On the other hand, rolling the Multiplier 100,000x and stacking 1,000,000 CTs per day can be easily done, although I'm not sure of the impact on your bankroll. The supposedly provably fairness of the Multiplier rolls is a story for another day. I’m currently rolling 100,000x every day and although I’m only stacking for 100,000 worth of CTs at the moment, I could easily see this scaling up to 1,000,000. All of these Monthly challenges (faucet, roll and stack) will be easily completed if you max out the daily challenges.
Now the only Daily and Monthly challenges left are the Lottery ticket purchases. Ironically, these challenges can be completed in a matter of second every day. To complete all 5 levels, it will cost you a steep 100,000 CTs, every, single, day. If you are ready to spend 3,100,000 CTs in a month (or about $300), you will earn the 480 bonus stars associated with the Daily and Monthly Lottery ticket challenges.
In conclusion here, if you are ready to invest a significant chunk of your time and money you can bank on 1920 bonus stars per month. This is, however, still not nearly enough to guarantee you 1st place. The steps to 2nd and 1st place are humongous.
Going for First
With the numbers above, you realize that the only possible way to achieve a high ranking in the monthly leaderboard is to squeeze as many All-Time challenge bonus stars as you can. If you want to have the slightest chance at finishing 1st you will probably need to earn most, if not all, of the All-Time challenge bonus stars in one single month. To put it simply: you have one and only chance at finishing 1st in any monthly Coinpot leaderboard. If you don't get enough All-Time bonus stars, they won't be available for the next month, there's no second chance in this game.
There are 12 All-Time challenges, for a total of 480 bonus stars to earn. Pushing the absolute maximum number of stars earnable in one 31-day month to 2,400 stars. Most of these All-Time challenges are reasonably feasible (especially if you can max out all the Daily/Monthly challenges). But they are a few All-Time challenges you will have no control over. Completing the All-Time lottery wins and runners-up, and referral faucet claims is something you can’t really buy or spend more time on, making them very hard to complete and, for any practical purposes, impossible to complete when needed. The Conversions and Mining CTs All-time challenges are tricky ones. While manageable they will end up costing you a lot of time and money. But that should be fine in comparison to spending 3,100,000 CTs in lottery tickets anyway.

Because some levels of these All-Time challenges are easily completed, you may have already completed them, not knowing about the ins and outs of the monthly leaderboard. This reduces even further the potential maximum bonus stars you can earn in one month from now on. When all is said and done, no matter how hard you try, your maximum bonus star ceiling is probably in the range of 2,000-2,200. Enough for 1st place?
You have one and only one shot at finishing at the very top of the Cointpot monthly leaderboard, and you may have already taken that shot…
