Hello everyone and welcome back to my latest splinterlands blog in the week -ever- 😅
While I was driving for work this morning and listening to the peoplesguild podcast on Spotify, I suddenly realized I totally forgot to make my second post for this week! 😬
DAMN!!!
So... the deadline is in just over two hours from now so let's get going!
The Battle Mage Secrets Challenge for this week is about the Shades of Grey ruleset, in which ONLY neutral cards are allowed, to find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself, you can read the splinterlands post here.
And with the current meta, there's one card that keeps haunting me with this ruleset, and I don't have it on my main account!
The battle I have saved for this post is a 20 mana Wild League, What doens't kills you / shades of grey / briar patch battle with only the dragon splinter locked out. For me there's only one way to choose the summoner for this ruleset, do I use a lot of magic, I go Obsidian, when I don't use a lot of magic, I want to nerf magic, so I use Thaddius or Immortalis mostly. In this case, with briar patch magic was definitely the way to go, and I made my team with a magic counter accordingly, I didn't have enough mana to include an amplify in my team, and now I think about it, I don't think there's an amplify neutral monster in my deck...
First look at the battlefield:
Oh! My opponent didn't agree magic was the way to go at all... Mantaroth is beast, but it's the only offensive card he has, hopefully I'm doing enough magic damage to quickly kill him, then the rest is easy...
My Line-Up:
- Summoner: Obsidian - reason: +1 magic
- First position: Prismatic Energy - reason: Spell Reflect.
- Second position: Furious Chicken - reason: only a filler card.
- Third position: Chaos Agent - reason: low mana weapons train receiver.
- Fourth position: Moxian Rebel - reason: give Weapons Training to adjacent cards.
- Fifth position: Creeping Ooze - reason: low mana weapons train receiver.
- Sixth position: Xenith Archer - reason: low mana good damage archer.
The Battle:
Round 1: Mantaroth is doing tremendous amounts of damage with his two attacks, almost killing my tank is the first turn, but like most battles, it's better to put a lot of small monsters in your team than one big mean and strong giant, he won't survive the next magic volley...
Round 2: Ooh that went fast!! A small tip... don't use a card with redemption in enrage ruleset, it will boost the ENTIRE enemy team 😁 thanks for that!
Well, that wasn't the longest battle I made a post about but it was a nice one, next post will be bigger again, I will make it sooner too! 😀
You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.
