Atlas Earth: A Brief Review After Almost 2 Years of Use

By KMatt | Investing and more | 1 hour ago

In recent years, the P2E model has evolved into various forms, and Atlas Earth is one of those projects, perhaps among the most popular.
The idea is simple: you purchase virtual territories that generate micro-revenues per second in real dollars, withdrawable via PayPal or Gift Card.
But what about the real return? Does it really make sense to invest money?
In this article, I'll share my personal experience and that of other users on Reddit so you don't have to.

How it works

As mentioned, you purchase parcels/lands, digital objects divided into common, rare, epic, and legendary, each generating a fraction of a dollar per second.
To increase your earnings, there's an advertising boost. Watch an ad for about 30 seconds, and a revenue multiplier is activated, valid for 1 hour (max 6).
The more parcels you own, the lower the base multiplier decreases to balance the game's economy.
Twice a month, the Super Rent Boost takes place, where the boost jumps to x50 for all players for 32 consecutive hours. Here's more information on estimated earnings and multipliers based on your country.

Real Earnings

From the analysis of experiences shared by Reddit users, here's a snapshot of average monthly earnings by country and investment level:

- USA: Average earnings between $10 and $25 per month, with an average ROI of 3-4 years.

- UK: Average earnings between $5 and $13 per month, ROI of 4-5 years.

- EU: Average earnings between $3 and $10 per month, ROI of 5-7 years.

Tips and Tricks

The Tiers Trap. Those who immediately invest hundreds of dollars by purchasing full-priced plots without considering tier drops risk lowering their daily multiplier, significantly lengthening the recovery time.

The importance of continuous boosting. The estimated earnings assume you keep the boost active for at least 20-22 hours a day, meaning you need to watch a lot of ads every day, otherwise you'll earn far too little.

Season Pass and Explorer Club

The first costs around $9.99 per month by enabling the Premium Challenge Series, where you redeem more Atlas Bucks (the in-game currency used to purchase plots).
The second costs $49.99 per month and is unlocked after having at least 5 city, region, or country badges (they cost about 200 Atlas Bucks each). It multiplies the daily bonus from 1 AB (Atlas Bucks) to 91, with mega rewards every 7, 30, 60, and 90 days. It also increases the advertising boost capacity to 8 consecutive hours.

My personal experience

I've been active in the game for almost two years now. I've skipped a few days for various reasons, but for the most part, I've kept boosts as active as possible. I've only made purchases for Explorer Clubs so I can get as many parcels and badges as possible.
I invested about $200 and earned $77 ($3.35 monthly), with a 39% ROI and an APY of around 19.5% annually.

So, is it worth it?

To be honest, I'm not so sure it's worth investing real money.
Recovering the lost capital takes several years, always hoping the app doesn't change the rules or close its doors first.
The question might arise: 19.5% return isn't worth it? Why?
Compared to a stablecoin, for example, if you invest $200, the capital remains yours; after a year with a 10% return, you'll have $220. If you need that money, you can withdraw it at any time.
On Atlas, that $200 is spent forever; you can't redeem or get that money back, except by waiting, buying fees, and absorbing various ads every day. Therefore, for several years, you'll only be recovering the capital invested.
Furthermore, P2E apps historically don't have very long life cycles; the risk that Atlas Earth faces today seems difficult, but not impossible.
Finally, it's not a passive income; there's always work involved (ads, fee purchases, mini-games, etc.).

That said, if you have patience and it seems like an interesting project, you can try it for free and decide for yourself whether it's a good investment of time and, if applicable, money.
