Recently i wrote a post about how crypto crime is on the rise in 2020. The post also had information about how 3 BTC were stolen from CoinDCX exchange.

Moments ago CoinDCX shared a tweet detailing what actually happened that resulted in the loss of 3 BTC from a users account.

As per the exchange's investigation-

- There was no intrusion in the platform and all users are safe.

- The perpetrator got access to users credentials and used that to withdrew the 3 BTC via OTP received on the users e-mail id which was also in the perpetrators control.

-With the help of VPN, coins were transferred.

-Investigation has been moved to India cyber crime cell and CoinDCX is collaborating with them.

Although it is great to see the exchange will bear the cost of the 3 stolen BTC and refund to the user but always remember Not your keys, Not you coins.
