RyanAir CEO Micheal O’Leary has no interest in Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, according to statements made in an interview with the Times on August 23.
- O’Leary said to “avoid Bitcoin like the plague” and called it a ponzi scheme
- O’Leary’s likeness was recently used - without permission - in a crypto promotional campaign by a phony news outlet that asked viewers to sign up for Bitcoin Lifestyle
- Other celebrities have also had their likeness used in campaigns without permission, including Simon Cowell, Sir Philip Green, Holly Willoughby, Lord Sugar and Jeremy Clarkson
- Such campaigns have been at the heart of lawsuits filed against YouTube, including those by Ripple and CEO Brad Garlinghouse, and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak
