RSK Designer Says Satoshi Would Never Spend His Bitcoins

Designer of the Bitcoin protocol RSK, Sergio Demian Lerner, in a Reddit AMA said that an examination of mining patterns from the early months of Bitcoin gives him the impression that Satoshi Nakamoto would never spend his ~1.1 million Bitcoins.

Lerner, along with others, noticed the “Patoshi” pattern - a miner that used a slightly different mining algorithm and whom many believe to be Satoshi Nakamoto. Saying that it may be “entering Satoshi’s privacy areas”, Lerner decided against further investigation,

I don't want to dig any more into that matter and I feel I contributed enough to the transparency of Bitcoin. Digging more may be entering Satoshi's privacy area.

But he did say that, on the assumption that Satoshis is this Patoshi, Lerner believes that no fairer or altruistic way could exist for Bitcoin’s birth,

Assuming Satoshi =- Patoshi, I believe, based on the past history of Satoshi coins, that Satoshi won't use his coins ever. Therefore I think that there couldn't be a fairer and more altruistic way for Bitcoin to be born.

The search for Satoshi’s identity continues, with many theories being offered. Most people do not take Craig Wright’s claims seriously, and new candidates like Adam Back have been touted.
