New York-headquartered Gemini Exchange has received approval from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to operate as an exchange and custodian, according to a press release published on September 23.
- The Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license allows Gemini to act as an exchange and custodian of assets across the nation
- UK users of Gemini now have more features and local support, among other things, on the platform; users can now transact in GBP through debit cards or via bank payments
- Gemini now also offers its services to institutional investors
- The exchange follows Coinbase, Revolut and Aave (LEND) in receiving licenses for conducting operations
