On September 10, the Compound Finance (COMP) team unveiled a new feature called autonomous proposals which streamlines the proposal creation process.

• The Autonomous Proposal tool allows anyone holding 100 COMP or more to launch the autonomous proposal, which is functionally almost identical to a formal governance proposal
• When this smart contract reaches 100,000 delegated votes, it changes to a formal governance proposal
• These proposals then appear on the governance leaderboard
• The previous system required delegates to hold 100,000 COMP tokens in order to be able to propose a change, and this high requirement motivated a design change
