Chainlink has launched an incentivized developer program called Chainlink Builders Program, according to an announcement made on Dec. 3.
- The Chainlink Builders Program has been designed to “recognize and thank” network developers for their creations and documentation
- It is a three-tiered program that grants badges to developers based on their involvement in the ecosystem and participation in various activities
- These activities include using Chainlink in a hackathon, writing a technical blog post, building a mainnet smart contract, answering questions on Stack Overflow, building a DeFi protocol with $1M Total Value Locked (TVL) and building a mainnet smart contract with over 1K API calls
- The builders program will be expanded over time to include more tiers and activities
- Badges can be redeemed for various rewards, including Non-fungible Tokens (NFTs) and Chainlink merchandise
- Occasionally, the program will also collaborate with Chainlink ecosystem projects to sponsor “ecosystem challenges”, with the first such challenge being sponsored by LinkPool, who have worked on development
- Chainlink also became the leading members of the Polkadot DeFi Alliance on Dec. 3, a new initiative which was revealed at the Polkadot Decoded event
