GameStop Releases NFT Marketplace with huge success
GameStop yep everyone's favorite Meme in '20 & '21 well they have been repositioning themselves for a new US economy. This one built around crypto and NFTs. Sure GameStop has been laying off traditional retail employees and back office staff, while ramping up staff for their NFT Marketplace. Recall GameStop hinted at their NFT marketplace last year and dropped some more hints back in March of this year.
What - On July 11th GameStop unveiled their Ethereum NFT marketplace which today are all artwork based NFTs. GameStop plans to offer video game NFTs in the future. The goal for the 'game NFTs' is sell directly to gamers! Perhaps GameStop is trying to position itself for Web3 gaming???
Supported blockchains - ETH and LRC are both currently supported with future support for Immutable X coming (recall Immutable X and GameStop formed a partnership to the tune of $100M to bring developers into this space) To learn more about this partnership check here - https://www.imxgrant.nft.gamestop.com/
Supported Wallets - GameStop Wallet, not sure, if they can be moved to cold wallets at this point?
Success - selling over 10,000 NFT's in 10 hours (@ 1000/hour), a huge success being that the overall crypto market is down huge this year.
Now they can compete with the likes of powerhouses such as OpenSea!

Timing - to some it might seem odd to release a new business venture in what appears to be a full recession in the USA and while laying off 100's of employees. Not to mention the fact that the entire crypto market is in a crypto winter with ETH being down 70% year to date. Although, NFTs are bucking that trend with increasing sales

Summary - Bold leaders take bold action, I believe the GameStop NFT marketplace will be a great bridge to bring many new crypto enthusiasts to the crypto realm and has already shown their NFT Marketplace to be a success with selling over 12K NFT's in 12 hours. Would you agree that is success?
