Cantor Fitzgerald to roll out Gold backed BTC Fund
Who is Cantor Fitzgerald?
The first time that I heard of Cantor Fitzgerald was on 9/11 when the media was reporting on missing people from the Twin Towers. Cantor Fitzgerald is a massive financial services firm. You might know them as Cantor Fitzgerald Asset Management (CFAM). They have over 1,600 employees that work in 30 different offices across the globe. They have more than $14 Billion assets under management (AUM).
What is Cantor Fitzgerald offering?
CFAM is putting together a Gold Protected Bitcoin (BTC) Fund. Which is designed to give investors direct exposure to the BTC cryptocurrency as well as one-to-one downside protection based on the price of gold. This seems to be a groundbreaking concept based on how many funds/ETFs are not backed by TradFi offerings like Gold. Once this is a successful as I believe it will be expect more to enter this fund style crowding the market.
Who is targeted with this fund?
My best guess is this fund is targeted at High net worth and Institutional investors. No idea how much the initial buy in nor what the fee structure will be annually.
Summary
Cantor Fitzgerald knows a thing or two about risk management, would you consider investing in a gold-hedged BTC fund? Seems low risk to me?!?
This is not financial advice, do not construe it as such!
