How do people make their money?  To be more precise, how do you,  or did you make your money?  This is one of the most interesting topics to be engaged in. However,  majority of people make money out of a crisis or a need. 

A barber makes his money out of a need for a haircut.  A doctor will make his money out of sickness.  A mortuary attendant will wish for people to die in order to be in business. 

Money is made out of a need or a crisis. 

 

Is There Anything Like Dirty Money? 

Oh,  money!

Sweet smelling money. 

Your fragrance wipes away poverty. 

Your aroma purchases property. 

Your taste is so sweet like honey.

Your feel turns many people horny. 

Oh  money,  where did you get your curse? 

You always snuggle with comfort in my purse.

The query was whether there is dirty money,  however, the poem depicts money as full of fragrance and aromatic.  It terms money as sweet only comparable to honey. 

Money is however,  termed as dirty through the means of acquiring the money. Prostitution, the oldest profession in the world, is one area where its proceeds are termed dirty. Maybe the main reason  is the method used to receive the money.  Robbery, exploitation, nepotism, fraud, corruption and bribery produce what is termed as dirty money.

Why The Love For Money? 

Money serves several purposes in life. 

• It is a medium of exchange
• A measure of value
• A store of value

So value can be measured in money.  When you have money,  you have value and regarded as rich.  With money, you have stored the value to purchase nearly anything you need. Lastly,  money is a medium of exchanging. Money here may be in Fiat or Cryptocurrency.  Fiat is tangible money while cryptocurrency is digitalised money.  They all serve the same purpose. 

Weird Scheme Of Acquiring Money. 

Death is inevitable.  At one time we have to face death in our lives.  Death deprives us of loved ones.  We need to have a grand send off to these loved ones. 

Where I come from,  sending off loved ones is done in colour and splendour.  Much money is needed to do this job. 

Funerals employ many people. There are coffin makers,  flower vendors,  grave diggers,  fundraisers,  choir,  tent sellers,  chair lenders and many others.  All these people contribute and make a living out of death.  They really out of the misfortune of losing a loved ones.  Let us not forget funeral homes, car hires and many others. 

The queerest group among these ones are professional mourners.  These ones are employed in funerals just to weep for the departed. 

Mourning in my area is regarded with great dignity. Crying for the dead is a way of showing how well the departed was loved. Some people are so dignified while others do not want to show their sorrow in public and hire the services of professional mourners. The duty of the professional mourners is just to cry in funerals. They will be seen on motorbikes carrying branches and wailing their loudest. It is as if they are competing to outdo one another.  The motorcycle drivers will rev their motorcycle engines,  hoot and show their expertise in handling the machines. 

At the home,  the mourning intensifies and the mourners sprawl on the ground while others roll in mud, dust and grass just to show their expertise in mourning. After the exercise, each is paid the agreed upon amount ranging from $5-10. A mourner may find themselves offering the service in two to five funerals a day depending on how good they are and how many funerals are in the locality. 

Professional mourners will have cashed in much during the acute corona period but restrictions were there.
