This was not proper urban hiking as the park is located in the countryside of the municipality of Castelfranco Emilia (more or less 15 km est from the city of Modena).

The park is enormous ...

... with small lakes and ponds ...

... and the need for signs to know the right way. Take on the left if you want to go to the Villa and to the Historic Gardens, straight if you want to go to the stables.

Be careful where you put your feet. You may stumble upon the remains of a mill.

The park takes its name from the Villa Sorra. The Sorra was the family name of the nobles who had built the Villa in the seventieth century.

On the east side of the Villa there is the historic garden

The fence was closed but I could take some photos from it.

A popular jury voted the park as the most beautiful in Italy in 2016.

A great perspective from the stairs on the east side of the Villa.

And this is the avenue visible on the south side.

And that's not all. This is the view from the west side

And this is the Villa seen from the west.

The park is too big. It is necessary a half a day stay, maybe having a picnic, to have a complete look.
