Carpi is one of the most important cities in the Province.

It is located about 25 km north of the main city of Modena. 

Recently I passed there and picked the opportunity for a quick walk in the old town.

It was a very hot morning ...

.. and it was better to find a fresh shelter under the arcades.

Many monuments and old buildings face on the main square (Piazza Martiri):

... from where it is possible to have a large perspective of the square ...

... with the castle ...

with its courtyard ...

... the theatre ...

and by walking on the paving made of porphyry cubes ...

we can arrive on the other side of the square where we can turn our heads to have a watch
