In December 2021 I was asked to make a survey in a place called "Riserva Naturale Cassa di espansione del fiume Secchia".
It is an area located on the border between the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia that was formerly the site of numerous quarrying activities.
Now the numerous chasms left by the quarries are lakes used to regulate the floods of the Secchia river and as a natural reserve where can be fuond many birds, turtles, and other animals.
Although I was there to work and didn't have a lot of free time, I took advantage of it to take a stroll here and there

The weather was sunny, but very cold especially in shadow places.

The trees seemed like ghosts abandoned in an uninhabited land.

I had walked around without a specific destination. I had no time for a long walk even if the place is very large and need hours to get only a quick view (I will return there when I will got the opportunity to).

This is one of the smallest lakes. They are artificial but they are going to re-nature.
