Egypt - Sinai and Mount Moses 2285 m n.p.m.
Generally, we had 2 weeks to lie on the beach, but we decided to go on a trip. It fell on Mount Sinai - also known as Mount Moses (the Ark of the Covenant is said to have been built there). A very mystical place. We climbed at night to an altitude of 2285 m above sea level and this is a real elevation to overcome, because it starts almost from sea level. We started our ascent at 10pm which lasted about 6 hours. It was not particularly tiring, but if someone wanted, he could use the services of a camel. At around 4am, we were at the top waiting for the sun to rise. It was quite chilly at this altitude, but for $ 1 you could rent a blanket.
The sunrise was amazing.
But what happens next is much more beautiful.
The sun slowly illuminates the rocks, the mountains turn slightly pink, then orange, and finally turn red.
near the chapel you can hear religious singing
Magic.. Time to go back - we are heading to the Saint Catherine Monastery. There are over 3,000 stairs ahead of us in rapidly rising temperatures.
The Saint Catherine Monastery is ahead of us
Saint Catherine Monastery
The monastery was erected at an altitude of 1570 m above sea level in the place where, according to tradition, the biblical revelation of God (Yahweh) took place around 1250 before the birth of Jesus Christ.
The photo below shows a tree that is said to be lucky to touch.
And this picture shows a tree that is said to still remember Christ's time
This, in turn, shows me taken down from the cross and looking for a bus with air conditioning.
