Funkia BLUE ANGEL

This beautiful honey plant has been growing in the park for many years. It typically grows to a height of 1 meter, but a Polish grower is said to have grown it to a height of 7 meters.

The plant has large leaves up to 40 cm wide. The name comes from the color of the leaves, which are green in young flowers, but blue in mature ones, such as those 7-8 years old.

The flowers are light pink, almost white, and cluster in large, beautifully fragrant clusters. The plant doesn't like too much sun and blooms quite late.

Also a beautiful, distinctive flower with reddish-rusty petals and a yellow center. It's a long-lived, frost-resistant plant. The plant isn't picky about location or soil quality.

It likes plenty of sun. It grows up to 70 cm tall and blooms right now, in July and August.

I have written about this plant many times, because whenever I walk through the park in the summer I am amazed by its structure.

These amazing, slightly prickly, spiky balls are magical, as if from another world.
