The hat has a velvety and matte surface, dark brown in color and can reach a diameter of up to 10 cm. convex, it may have a slight cone in the middle. The edge is often tucked up.

Perhaps its appearance is not inviting, and if you came across such a mushroom you would pass it by without bending down to it, but it is a very tasty edible mushroom.

The gills are delicate, white, darkening with age. They change color to rusty red after being damaged.

The leg is the same color as the hat, but slightly lighter at the bottom. The inside is full, cylindrical in color.
