The Andaman Islands are an amazing archipelago of islands belonging to India, although they are located closer to Thailand (about 600 km) lying in the Andaman Sea.

We got there completely by accident, because I tracked down cheap flights from Chennai (former Madras in India) to Port Blair in the Andaman Islands - cost around 100 USD for two people return. We do not travel with my spouse with any travel agencies, we organize all trips ourselves. But this is a story for another time.

So we landed in Port Blair in the Andaman Islands and sailed to Havelock Island, where we spent a wonderful 3 weeks. The characteristic showcase of this island is the fallen trees on one of the beaches - Elephant Beach - why would you think about elephant beach? That's because elephants are brought to this place to bathe.
