The hat is dull, light brown when wet, slimy. It can be up to 20 cm in diameter. When it is young, it has a semicircular shape, becoming convex and flat over time. Its color is deceptively similar to the boletus.

The fungus has characteristic pores. When young they are white and when the fungus is ripe they turn pink, pinkish-white. The tubes have the color of pores, turn brown after mechanical damage. It is very easy to separate them from the flesh.

The leg is yellowish in color and has a brown mesh. The length of the foot can reach 15 cm. The shape is usually cylindrical, thicker at the base. It's full inside.

Rośnie pod sosnami, świerkami, głównie w lasach iglastych – Pospolity. Owocniki wyrastają od lata do jesieni, pojedynczo lub w grupach po kilka, pod sosnami, świerkami, na kwaśnych glebach. Zastosowanie- niejadalny.
