You might think that going to the same place for over 30 years would get boring, because how much can you do? But when someone falls in love with a place, nothing will stop them and they will return there whenever they have the chance.

This is the case for me, and probably for my wife, because whenever we have a moment of free time, we get in the car and drive just 50 km out of town to find ourselves in a completely different world, in a world of silence, peace, birdsong, beautiful landscapes and amazing smells. This is exactly what the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland is like.

Our trips to this place begin in very early spring, when there are often still large areas of snow. And this is no coincidence, because it is precisely at this time that the first mushrooms appear in such conditions, or rather one species, the edible morel. It is hard to find, and in addition, its period of occurrence is very short, because it lasts until the first warm days. This mushroom does not like heat and dies very quickly.

Another magnet that draws us to this place is a river called Centuria. This small river is different and unpredictable every year, often changing its bed, although it does not look like it.

Centuria winds through the Jurassic gorges like a yellow snake. The sand in the river has a beautiful yellow color, and the water itself is crystal clear. Thanks to the fact that the source bursts from limestone rocks, the water is perfectly filtered and has the highest possible purity class.

Water from Centuria is suitable for consumption without boiling. And all this is just 50 km from the gigantic Silesian agglomeration. I am waiting for the May Day holiday with longing to go to the Jurassic forests again.
